Interested parents may pick up an application packet from the office, which includes the application, a pastoral reference form, and teacher recommendation forms for older students. Parents are also required to sign our statement of faith. Once the completed application is received in the office with the $25 application fee, an appointment will be scheduled for testing. Depending on the time of year this may be in a group setting or one-on-one. After the testing, an appointment will be made for an interview with the Head of School with the parents. This is to provide the parents an opportunity to ask any questions they may have, and for the school to learn a little more about the family. Once all of this has been completed, the admissions committee will meet to make a final decision. Applicants will be notified by mail of the committee's decision. Accepted applicants can secure their space in the class by sending in the $300 non-refundable registration deposit.
Admissions screening for Kindergarten-age students consists of a developmental test and a test of school abilities. This test is to determine if there might be any learning problem that would be better addressed in another setting, and to determine if there are any behavioral issues.
All students must complete the Class One screening before advancing to first grade. This is a test of reading readiness to determine if a student is developmentally ready to enter Class One, or would benefit from a second year of Kindergarten. A recommendation of Kindergarten II does not mean that there is a learning problem or low intelligence, but rather that the child simply has not reached the developmental level necessary to be successful in Class One.
Students applying to Class Two and above must complete a school abilities test as well as a standardized test of verbal and mathematic abilities that is grade appropriate. This is to determine if that child will be able to succeed in our accelerated curriculum.
All new students must submit the $300 non-refundable registration deposit before they can be added to the class roster.
